And in the end we got it all working (phew) in it's new jacket. A lot of frigging screws though. The #aliexpress shell was so so. Not recommended. Some parts just didn't fit and I had to cut and holes I needed to enlarge. Plastic also felt cheap. #psp #retromodding

SNES Jr RGB mod I installed earlier this year. Cheapie AliExpress board with laughably thin wires but the results are beautiful on my 20" Trinitron I rgb modded as well. This mod I did along with a full recap and voltage regulator swap, it thankfully went smoothly :D #retromodding #snes #trinitron

Low melt solder is your friend when removing a chip.... But if you intend to reuse the chip... The pain! The horror! When does the hurting stop?! Cleaning the low melt from the legs is a pain in the arse. #retrorevival #retromodding

Decided to go with this. I am using TRRS (tip, ring, ring, sleeve) jack instead of TRS, because this will also allow me to connect composite to it so it can also be used with a 3.5mm to AV RCA cable. #neogeo #snk #retromodding

Soldered the shielded audio cable to the headphone jack pins and routed it to the back via the top side. Previously I routed it bottom side, but due to the thickness of the cable it did not fit well. So this time I am routing it too side to the back. #snk #neogeo #retromodding #retrorevival

De decided not to touch the RGB, since they are already good as it is in the AES3-5. So now I will try to isolate CSync but also try to keep composite. Had to resort to hot glue though. #snk #neogeo #retromodding

So following RetroSix instructions, I put a 10K pot on one of the RGB input lines instead of the 6.8K resistor. It turned out to be Red, as the white screen turned cyan when the pot is at highest resistance. I adjusted the pot until the 0.70V stopped jumping around. #retromodding

Undid all the stuff to test so now everything is back to stock except that I have CSync wired directly to the DIN. Not to test using 10K pot on the input side of the RGB lines. #neogeo #retrorevival #retromodding

All good! Had 2 buttons swapped, they differ a little bit in size, so the one that was too big was stuck in pressed state once the shell was screwed on and that made it skip the title screen. Done! #atari #lynx #retrorevival #retromodding

Thought I'd quickly finish this project (by not attempting a rechargeable battery installation), by just putting it back together. But after it was done I noticed it almost went straight to the menu when I turn it on and it missed the iconic theme of California Games. #atari #lynx #retromodding

Finished my PC-Engine Duo project, only took 8 months. My beloved Duo which I got in the 90's. Re-capped, installed an RGB amp and an FRAM mod, didn't have to do anything for the drive/laser. #pcengine #retromodding #hudsonsoft
