Die Insel ist in etwa so groß, wie das Saarland oder Luxemburg. Es leben hier knapp unter 890.000 Menschen. Die Insel ist bis auf einzelne abgelegene Bergdorfer, die teils nur zu Fuß erreichbar sind, im Prinzip nur am Rand besiedelt. Das liegt am vulkanischen Ursprung.

Ja, hier auf #ReunionIsland gibt es immer wieder Haiangriffe. Vor 20 Jahren waren #Haie hier kein Thema. Aber die Erwärmung der Meere, Veränderung der Strömungen bringen andere Fische hierher und somit auch deren Beutefresser. In den letzten Jahren wurden es weniger Unfälle. ¹
