Processional for Mark, Phillis, and Phebe Led by Ife Franklin with sound baths by Marlene Boyette ONE 5TH STREET BOSTON, MA SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 2024 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Lot Lab
R4BL BOS is partnering with @thetriennial for our Juneteenth ride, on Saturday, June 22nd. We will ride to Charlestown Navy Yard, where Ife Franklin will lead a processional to her sculpture at Lot Lab, honoring the lives of Mark - hung for 20 years, Phyllis - burned, and Phebe - likely sent overseas, three Black humans, enslaved in Charlestown, who gave their lives in pursuit of their freedom. The processional will be followed by guided meditation and sound bath by @marleneboyette. This ride, while open to all, is intended as a healing practice for Black Americans who are descendants of enslaved Africans. All participants are encouraged to wear white. The route to the Navy Yard will be posted mid-week. This ride will start at approximately 1:15pm.
