The Poor Old Hoss of Richmond, or T’Owd ‘Oss as he’s known locally, is a unique tradition featuring a hobby horse with a real horse skull mounted on a pole as his head. Accompanied by a troupe of mummers dressed as huntsmen, they sing special songs and perform a lively act where T’Owd ‘Oss ’dies’ and is dramatically revived by a blast from a hunting horn, bringing plenty of merriment and chaos.
