#licenseplates #roadgeek | Cartagena is usually the entry and exit point for vehicles in South America, and it's crazy to see cars with Chilean, Argentine, and French license plates here. I'll try to take pictures of foreign cars when I'm in Cartagena.<

#roadgeek | Why they use both "NS" and "NT" for the abbreviations of departmental routes?
#roadgeek | It seems that Colombia got a proper road numbering since the 1960s including smaller routes with 3 digits

#roadgeek | Between the 2000s and 2010s, road signs using generic US Route shields (and some variants) were installed in Panama City to indicate street numbers (when they should indicate national routes).

#roadgeek | Road numbering in Indonesia is quite unusual, especially outside Sumatra, Java, and Bali. Sulawesi does not have proper road numbering, so it uses maintenance sectors on its signs, causing confusion among drivers.

#roadgeek | Throughout the 2010s, GARBLT (the Egyptian authority responsible for placing traffic signs) began using the Impact typeface instead of Transport to represent highway shields (which are inspired by the US Interstate Shield).

#RoadGeek | #Aruba does not use the #Dutch Font for its road signs but in fact uses Arial (The one with Yellow Shields) and Blue Highway (The one with Blue Shields), a freeware font by Ray Larabie that attempts to recreate the style of the American FHWA fonts.
#RoadGeek | I have been talking about Vietnamese Chevrons a few days ago, curiously in the QL4D in Lào Cai, it uses a color palette a little different from the rest where instead of using white and red it uses black and red.
#RoadGeek | I find it interesting that #Vietnam used two different color palettes on their chevrons, but what surprises me the most is that they do it at the same time. Pic is from ĐT716 Road in the port of Phan Thiết

This is almost certainly the last time I'll ever drive across the old I-74 Mississippi River bridge. I felt it necessary to record video of it. #roadgeek
Not sure which vendor provided your basemap, but you should be showing and ALT US-45 shield rather than the text "S Highway 45 Alternate". #roadgeek

Iowa has a new interstate: I-880. :o
Actually, it's just the northern half of I-680, but with a new number. :p #RoadGeek
Random late-night #RoadGeek thoughts: why does I-129 in Sioux City even exist? It's only three miles long, goes nowhere important, and shares US-20 for its entire length. Seriously, just demote it to US-20 solo. :p
A signage mistake in Independence (IA) that only a #roadgeek like myself would notice. I mean, yeah, that IS the right direction to go to get to US-150...but to get there you'll have to drive about 120 miles. :p
