If the #Robodebt6 had to get a legal opinion I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we all paid for it.
It would also be hoped that other senior managers, besides the Commissioners, who were a party to the original decision-making considerations aren't involved in the new investigation.

The large scale redactions appear to relate discussion on "Ancillary Issues" - ie. the NACC's media release deciding not to investigate the #Robodebt6 and its capacity to lay sanctions.

FOI documents released by the NACC show not all of the #NACC submissions to the Inspector (re: her inquiry into the NACC's handling of the #Robodebt6 referral) were made fully available to the public.
At least 9 NACC staff members submitted forms across the time period 30 October 2024 through to 25 November 2024.
The time frame aligns with the release of the NACC Inspector's report into the NACC's refusal to investigate the #Robodebt6 referrals.

The extension of this service to the #Robodebt6 is a wonderful concierge service that I wasn't aware the NACC provided.
Free counselling for the #Robodebt6 - cold comfort for the victims.
If the any of the #Robodebt6 required additional assistance in signing up to the counselling services then a NACC Witness Liaison Officer was also available to assist.
It is unclear if any of the #Robodebt6 utilised the service.
The NACC told the #Robodebt6:
"I understand the information in this letter may cause you worry or distress".
The letter(s) to the #Robodebt6 stated a "report from a reputable retired judge" had found "a mistake of law or fact relating to the Commissioner's management of a perceived conflict of interest".
The unnamed judge was Hon Alan Robertson SC and engaged by the NACC Inspector.
The #Robodebt6 were given advance notice and informed two days before the NACC Inspector officially handed down her report on 30 October 2024.
The NACC had previously advised the #Robodebt6 on 22 April 2024 that the NACC would be taking NO further action on robodebt.
The details of the empathetic offer came were contained in letters (28 October 2024) the NACC sent to the #Robodebt6 advising them that an eminent independent person was to be appointed to reconsider the NACC's previous decision NOT to investigate.

On 12 July 2023, Brereton approved the NACC Senior Assessment Panel (NSAP) terms of reference, including the process to notify any COI.
The NSAP was the body that considered the #Robodebt6 referrals.
