A promotional graphic for Global Health 50/50’s Rollback and Resistance report. The graphic has bold text reading "ROLLBACK" in a distressed, fading font and "RESISTANCE" in a solid, bold font. Below, a subtitle reads: "How US-based global health organisations are responding to the DEI crackdown." On the right side, a highlighted key finding states: "Over a quarter of US-based global health organisations removed or altered references to DEI and/or gender equality on their websites in just one month, rolling back previous public commitments." The Global Health 50/50 logo is in the top right corner. The background is split between white and a gold section at the bottom.

The rollback of DEI in #globalhealth is not just a crisis—it’s a call to action.

The findings in #RollbackandResistance expose the scale of this challenge, but knowledge alone is not enough.

We need collective action.

On the right is a mixed-media artwork on a wooden board that depicts two male figures in black suits, white shirts, and ties, with their hands casually in their pockets. Their faces are obscured, leaving only the suits visible. The piece is created using paint, fabric, and encaustic wax, with thick layers partially covering text that reads “ride out ‘bullying’.” On the left of the artwork, a dark blue text box contains a quote from a President & CEO of a consistently high-performing organisation in GH5050’s annual reports, that reads: “They can (executive) order policies off our website, but they cannot change our values. If taking our DEI policies off our website is the price we pay to continue our work, I’ll pay it. We will still be a diverse team that ensures equity and creates an inclusive workplace environment.” The Global Health 50/50 logo is in the bottom left corner.

DEI commitments may be disappearing from websites, but that doesn’t mean they’re disappearing from workplaces.

This quiet resistance matters. The rollback of gender and #DEI policies is real—but so is the determination to protect progress.

US-funded organisations are under pressure from executive orders and being forced to choose: stand by #equality and #DEIA or safeguard their funding.
