I claimed that this was no challenge at all, so I'll back that up:
30 day books-by-women challenge! 30 books, one per day, that you’ve read that were written by women.

Day 19:The Weather in the Streets - Rosamond Lehmann (read 2025)
Colour photo of Rules Restaurant, London, on a souvenir promotional card, probably from the 1960s, which shows the cosy, junk-filled dining room with cream-coloured, picture-covered walls and numerous waiters in black coats serving tables.
Page 175 from "The Weather in the Streets" by R. Lehmann, 1936. Lovers Olivia & Rollo go to Rules Restaurant for a late supper. The narrator (Olivia) describes the old-fashioned, cluttered space and the people there. (Sorry couldn't figure out how to "copy text.")
For a temporary refuge from a grey February day (not to mention *all that other stuff*) let's repair to Rules (est. 1798) for a postcoital snack with Olivia & Rollo.
