Raspberry Pi’s RP2350 microcontroller debuted last year as a tiny, low-power chip for inexpensive devices. Compared with the previous-gen RP2040 microcontroller, the RP2350 brings faster MCU cores, twice as much memory, support for more I/O _and_ two RISC-V CPU cores – it’s even possible to run a minimal Linux distro on hardware featuring the RP2350 processor. So it’s unsurprising to see that after launching a single-board computer powered by an RP2040 chip in 2024, Olimex has introduced an updated model with an RP2350B processor. The **Olimex RP2350pc** is available now for 25 Euros (about $29). The little computer measures 85 x 65mm (3.35″ x 2.56″) and has a set of features that includes: * 4 x USB 2.0 Type-A host ports * 1 x USB-C connector for power supply * 1 x USB-C connector for programming * 1 x HDMI/DVI video output * 1 x 3.5mm headphone jack * 1 x 3.5mm audio line input * 1 x microSD card reader * 2 x UEXT connectors * 2 x JST 2.0 connectors (for speakers) * LiPo battery charger and JST 2.0 connector At the heart of the system is an RP2350B processor with: * 2 x ARM Cortex-M33 MCU cores @ 150 MHz * 2 x Hazard3 RISC-V CPU cores @ 150 MHz * 520 KB SRAM * 16MB SPI Flash There’s also 8MB of PSRAM and an ES8311 stereo audio codec and amplifier. So what are you supposed to do with this little computer? Olimex is positioning it as a solution for retro gaming or education. While it’s not exactly powerful enough to run a modern desktop operating system, you can run older apps and games using tools like the work-in-progress Reload emulator for RP2350pc for Apple ][, Oric Atmos, and Puldin 601 emulation. You can also find additional documentation (including schematics and hardware design files)for the RP2350pc board at the Olimex GitHub page. _viaOlimex Blog_ ## Support Liliputing Liliputing's primary sources of revenue are advertising and affiliate links (if you click the "Shop" button at the top of the page and buy something on Amazon, for example, we'll get a small commission).
