Post-9/11 we learned US ignored multiple warnings/indicators of risk of attack. The question of whether 🇺🇸had previously been so cavalier led me to research the run-up to #PearlHarbor. What I found became the catalyst for my novel #RumorsFromShanghai.

TL:DR 🇺🇸 Recklessness+hubris = dangerous mix

The premise of my novel #RumorsfromShanghai is 🇺🇸 failure to defend against Japan’s attack at Pearl Harbor flowed from our unwillingness to heed warnings from marginalized pple.
Black women warned us not to vote for Trump. 55% of white Americans disregarded the warning.
Again 🇺🇸 under attack. 😠

The sequel to my WW2-era novel, #RumorsFromShanghai, is set in the Korean War. I found MARVELOUS history re Black women thriving in Occupied Japan pre-KW, incl nurses who lived glam lives. In researching, I came across Maj #NancyLeftenantColon. I looked up her obit & she was still alive at 101!
