Buster carefully maneuvers through the Wacky Back Alley, collecting dollar bills and avoiding bird guards. The sunset is warm and beautiful, and there are many buildings to jump across.

A bit later on in the level, Buster must slowly sidestep along the pipes and avoid the searchlights.

#28: Buster's Big Score!

Cute little short demo here, with some nice pixel art and chill music! I hope this goes far!

Title Screen! Bun can be seen falling through the sky, with their (idk they gender) bat friend beside them. I really like the logo, too!

Bun, with the funny trans skin, stands atop some terrain in the Wilder West, taking in the sights. Many blue chips can be seen below, and cacti line the sides of the path forward.

Here Bun is now scaling a spiraling mountain, to get a sky-high view of the entire map. Dangerous spike pendulums line this spiral.

#27: Bun 'n Gun

@firengames.com what up it's ya boy sonhog back at it again with another bun 'n gun review and i still love it, however i couldn't get to the snake this time around even though i swear i got all the required bats

Title Screen! It's pretty bare bones with basic fonts and the like, but it's still something.

Pandora enters the caverns of Helenia, which has been populated by evil moles. She quickly dispatches of these two and moves on.

The next few stages are very W.I.P., with the backgrounds being sketches. However, there is still some level here, with red gladiators being introduced.

#26: Bulletombe

Another one that seems like a very early prototype, what with its lack of any audio. Still, it has potential, and I'm interested in seeing more of it.

Title Screen! It takes on a very medieval theme, with the background covered in shields.

The playable knight bunny (idk their name) takes a run through the forest level of this demo. The visuals look a tad bit bland, but there's enough to make it stand out. She must avoid a horde of other animals as enemies.

Here she is, powered-up, shanking one of these enemies, while another one remains idle, waiting for a chance to strike.

#25: BuKnight

It's pretty alright. The enemies were comboing me quite frequently and I had to resort to a cheesing method to make it through the second level easily, but I still see the effort. Keep it up!

The first level out of the three is a basic platformer level, with Bristle collecting bolts and paint splotches, and defeating robots.

The second stage is a boss against an upscaled robot, who fires paint splotches at Bristle. It can be easily taken down with a few stomps.

The final stage is more of a shmup than anything, with Bristle able to fire pain splotches at these evil squares. The stage is short-lived, too.

Par (at least I assume that's her name) jogs across the main garden of this alpha. Pink blossom trees can be seen as well as the vast sea. Behind her is the forest where you can nab your first Bobo...

#23: Bobo Bay

In this game, you must guide this funny slime bunny to cover all of the tiles to beat each puzzle. There isn't really much else to it. The first one is just some basic up and down shenanigans.

#22: Blobun

Title Screen! The logo is displayed at the top, and the playable slime creature is asleep on a patch of grass, inside a cavern complex.

The cavern complex can be seen in full here, and it houses rocky structures in the background, as well as small mushrooms and crystals in the foreground. Deadly rats and bats line these caves, as do bouncy mushrooms of different colours.

The second half of the cavern has light shining in the background, as well as a new mushroom that produces poisonous fumes when bounced upon. This is also the area that introduces an even more dangerous enemy, which consumes the rats for strength.

Exiting out of the caverns, a vast cityscape marks the end of this demo, with an unknown character holographed in the background. Spooky...

#21: Biophage

This game i really cool! The level design is fun to mess around in and you can reach some great speeds! I hope this goes very far!

There is no title screen, it goes straight to gameplay. This unnamed dude is here in the tutorial room, where you can learn the controls and how to play the game. There's balloons, spikes and signs aplenty.

The only other room in this is just a little obstacle course with a bunch of treasures. You can climb ladders and find a key to unlock a bottomless pit, but not much else.

#21: Balloon to the Moon 2

Whoever created this one...

Look, man, I can understand if this is the visual direction you want to go, considering I've never played the prequel, but this is just so bland... Lots of improvement is required here.

Title Screen! The logo is seen in the middle of the screen, amongst a sky-high background.

In this game, Ramila and Ryleth's souls are embedded in this mystical ring called an aureole, and it can be thrust around in the air. It's like golf, if you could control the ball.

You can even do a 'Ring Blitz' to send it hurtling across flat ground at blistering speed! It's just a Spin Dash. I don't care what anyone says, it's a Spin Dash.

Our first stage accessible through the 'Paper Dimension' is Forest Glade! It's a nice foresty area with dirt grounds and trees aplenty. This section of the stage has some cannons that fire the aureole in a straight line until it crashes into a wall.

#20: Aureole: Wings of Hope

Interesting style of game here. The visuals are very pretty and the gameplay style is quite fun. I wish the best for this one's future.

Title Screen! The logo can be seen in a variety of colours at the top, beneath a nice sky-high background.

Trace and Aurora's adventure begins in Starstone Forest. The landscape is lush and pretty, with warm colours, grassy and rocky plains, and pink pine trees lining the background. This area is used to teach you the basic controls, and there are plenty of pearls to collect if you wish.

Trace has acquired this mystical artifact known as the Aurascope, allowing him to interact with certain transparent platforms and star-shaped objects!

Next up are the Petal Valleys, providing a nice glimpse at what to expect from the main levels in this game! This one contains a bunch of Good Goods, some bugs to squish, and even a couple Star Reactors to find if you explore!

Title Screen! We have a nice space background here, with Hemi Pink and Acro Blue running across the screen.

The first level is the Fungi Forest, and Hemi here takes a jog through it, learning the controls. There's a huge star in the background, beneath a bunch of clouds.

Thought I'd screenshot the combat too. Here's Hemi whacking one of the enemies with her huge hammer.

At the end of the Fungi Forest is a fight against this orca-like creature! It puts up quite a fight against the two pods, but Hemi saves the day and takes it down eventually.

#18: Astropods: Starside Glaze

Paper and her artwork given sentience fly across the only level in this demo, which is inspired by the artist Vincent van Gogh. A star enemy can be seen firing projectiles at Paper.

Later on in the level, Paper uses her special attack to create another drawing which fires its own projectiles all over the place, knocking out one of the enemies. The other enemy's projectiles must be parried.

#17: Art Attack

@drawmi.bsky.social Very short game you got here, with some questionable difficulty right from the start? The art style is pretty good, but I'm not sure if I might return to this if it appears at this year's SAGE. We'll have to wait and see.

After cleaning up the Church of Faith in Chapel Town, the player character (who I named SonHog, my usual OC name) starts to head back home as the sun sets. Visible here are the usual grassy grounds, a single pink flower, and a long power line.

After being knocked unconscious by a strange diamond machine, SonHog is encountered by an angel named Yui, and the two head towards the church to find the first of several runes that they will need to save the world. Here they are in one of the cavernous areas, where SonHog is using Yui's dash ability to double jump.

And here the duo are now in the same area only SonHog was at the beginning, only now during the daytime. Yui is flying close behind.
