By my count, we're now at three lawsuits involving #SB382. Gov. Josh Stein is now suing over a bill that strips him of his ability to fill NC Supreme Court and NC Court of Appeals vacancies as he sees fit and reduces his influence over the NC Utilities Commission. #ncpol

With the passing of #SB382 in December, this is clearly an addendum of these kinds of moves made by the NCGOP, and the TN legislature's recent bill was a test run of furthering this seize.

Holdout NC House reps get in line with GOP, override veto Relief bill full of controversial political measures could face legal challenge despite successful NC House GOP override of veto.

GOP Reps. Mike Clampitt, Karl Gillespie and Mark Pless voted against #SB382 in November. Knowing that the bill does nothing to help their WNC constituents, they still voted to override Gov. Cooper's veto of the unconstitutional legislation.
