… Though the Buddha said Dependent Arising *is* the Dharma, the three differing explanations of it tell us we don't fully understand what he taught. Here's a look at the three and an offer of something different.

2/ Traditional interpretations of DA split it into sections in a variety of ways. As discussed earlier (in #SB9of10k) a three-lives model is one of the most familiar versions. It calls the first two links the previous life, the last two or three the next life, all the rest this life.
1/ "The Four Noble Truths" are effectively the front door to Buddhism, its most famous and accessible teaching. Dependent Arising (DA) puts on the opposite face. The Buddha tells his cousin and long-time attendant, Ananda, that it is deep and difficult to see.
