I also attended the US premiere of SPIRITED AWAY, @ Berkeley's Pacific Film Archive, as part of the #SFIFF in 2002. No memory of Miyazaki's presence there, tho, or of any intro by Pixar's John Lasseter aspect! I had a badge for the 45th SF Film Fest… #YoLaTengo live Painlevé score @ The Castro, etc.
