The great Patrons of old did not receive tax write-offs. The ancient Greek oligarchs were required by the Senate to fund the performances in the amphitheatres for the benefit of the public. The Roman Maecenas was patron of the epic poet Virgil, Cangrande della Scala of Dante, Lorenzo de' Medici of many artists and painters, none of them received tax write offs. They chose artists they judged worthy of civilization, for the good of the culture.

*Goal: $100,000 to rent a theatre or convert a vacant storefront into one, perhaps on Powell Street, as near as possible to Union Square, hire a General Manager, two stagehands, a house manager, three SF Bay Area PR, publicity, and marketing professionals to reach different segments, legal consul in California for advice on AB5. As once again a member of Theatre Bay Area Org for the second time, since performing in 2018 at Shelton Theater 533 Sutter Street, I will attend its Open Audition 2025, Feb 8 &9 seeking local talent
