The #SHEAR2025 conference is over, but we wanted to highlight some of the great moments of this year’s conference: from the President’s Plenary and Address to the Book Exhibit and Early Career Mentorship Reception. SHEAR would like to thank everyone who attended and participated this year!
I took the train from Washington, D.C. up to Providence for the #SHEAR2025 conference. Among the benefits of doing that is the lower likelihood that my train will collide with a B-52.
So #SHEAR2025 was memorable, being President a great honor. Shout out to our conference coordinator Erika Huckestein and @kawulf.bsky.social for making this conference such a success. Kabria and Peter put together a great program. 470 attendees, 10 ex and current students from UMass and UConn!

I had such a wonderful time in Providence for #SHEAR2025 that I forgot to take pictures! This was my first time presenting @ a conference & I had a blast. As a public historian whose work straddles the liminal space between the Early Rep and post-Civil War, @shearites.bsky.social feels like a home.
