Navigating Autism in Communities of Color | Film Trailer Multiple Autisms Collective presents Navigating Autism in Communities of Color. This documentary highlights Black caregiver experiences of obtaining a diagnosis, accessing services, and advocating for their children with autism. Based on stories from six Black families, as well as experts in the field, we examine the unique struggles of navigating autism in a structurally unequal society and determination for equal access. In a collaboration between the School of History and Sociology and the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at Georgia Tech, along with The Color of Autism Foundation, this film offers a first-hand account of the challenges and hopes for a future that embraces autism in Black communities. This documentary was funded through the generous donation of the Enda Wardlaw Charitable Trust and the School of History and Sociology, Georgia Institute of Technology.
