Infineon Introduces Quantum-Resistant SLC27 Security Controller to Safeguard Long-Life Devices
Quantum computers are projected to gain enough computational power within the next decade to undermine many of today’s widely used cryptographic algorithms, thereby endangering the security of numerous digital systems. Consequently, long-life products such as ePassports, IoT devices, and Secure Elements must adopt post-quantum cryptography (PQC)-ready hardware without delay. In response to this pressing need, Infineon Technologies AG has introduced the SLC27 security controller, equipped with a Common Criteria-certified cryptography library that includes the PQC algorithms ML-KEM and ML-DSA.
