Nikola Petkovic has suffered an ACL injury in his right kneee that will require surgery and would almost certainly keep him from returning this season.

The #Sounders officially announced the trade of Georgi Minoungou to the Colorado Rapids for $2 million in GAM, split evenly between 2026 and 2027 GAM. Seattle will retain sell-on clause on Georgi of any future trade or transfer above an undisclosed amount.
Reed, Vargas, Leyva, and now Georgi. The #Sounders have sold several young talents over the offseason, but the club will have a good amount of money to spend. The question is now posed to GM Craig Waibel: what will he do with the funds?

A young, quick, and ferocious talent is set to depart the #Sounders in a shock move by the club. The Sounders have traded midfielder and fan favorite Georgi Minoungou to the Colorado Rapids, reports @elrolonw.bsky.social The reported-on fee will be about $2m in GAM, @tombogert.bsky.social added.
As always @tombogert.bsky.social with the accurate info. I can also confirm that #Sounders is holding on to a sell on fee for Georgi Minoungou although it is less than the usual 15%.
It is also important to add that the $2M in GAM is a club record and has escalators beyond that amount.
Much as I love Georgi, $2m GAM for him is an offer you cannot turn down. Absolutely gonna root for him moving forward though. #Sounders
