Take home message. Many commensal Neisseria carry relevant resistance associated amino acida at baseline. Despite frequent ceftriaxone exposure no trends towards further accumulation of resistance associated mutations are seen

Really interesting talk on penA among commensal Neisseria by team at Maastricht.

They looked at species distribution and penA mutations before/after treatment for #gonorrhea. They did not find a trend in ceftriaxone resistance mutations after treatment.
