This looks almost finished - I can assure you that isn't the case. Plenty of fiddly details remain, and I need to carve a lot of the negative space deeper so that it doesn't print excessive noise. It's definitely getting there though.

Made some solid progress on this today.
Trying a new technique on the bone areas. I'm roughly clearing them with a smaller gouge, with the aim of leaving behind a few flecks, giving a different visual language to the pure negative space.

Began carving Sachiel.
The white area is what I've carved so far. Once the outline is accurately carved, it's relatively easy to clear an area.
I'm using maple plywood for this, which I've never used before. It's been pleasant to carve so far.

I finished my Sachiel design.
My late WIPs all look the same. I swear I changed it! I fuss over everything. With minimalism, every single mark has much more importance.
Biggest change was shortening the left building, which makes Sachiel more imposing.
