In the last two days I have done two things which are increasingly unheard of.....
Wrote a cheque to solicitor yesterday, for costs incurred during probate process!
And today, went into a bricks and mortar bank less than 2 miles away, to close a bank account of my mother's.

Can't quite believe that no one spotted this at the time!
Have had to send both original wills to solicitor, but thankfully I had taken screenshots of each of them!

Throwing myself into #sadmin once again, but lightening the load with another run through of Cabin Pressure. Giggling myself into bits already.

Half an hour out of my day earlier sorting out #sadmin errors others have made.
My mother's private pension provider paid the money into her account 3 weeks after her death, despite me informing them she had died. (Happened with my father too.)
As account closed I was not in a position to reimburse.
Image is a screenshot showing a chatbot asking "please let me know what I can help with" and me countering with "I want to speak to a human, not a chatbot", and the wretched bit of code replying "I'm sorry, but I'm unable to process that request due to content guidelines".
I'm being batted between several useless chatbots before breakfast. I just want to talk to a human. #Sadmin
The interesting thing is contrasting it with the death of Paul, my friend 11 months after John.
I had time to process it, I had time to bug out and just hike. I had time to get used to it without having Council Tax Arrears and coroners and funeral directors beating down my door.

Endless #sadmin continues.
My mother's private pension was paid following her death.
Uploaded letter from company regarding this, onto bank portal.
Phoned to check received & find out likely time to make payment.
Failed security for giving my address (where all bank stuff sent to) not carehome's.
My friend eventually phoned at 6!
As I suspected got distracted....
Heart sank when I saw it was on videocall (I usually refuse to do them), but thankfully, she doesn't look at the camera too much!
Had to multitask at times as dinner prep needed.
Just the hour on the phone.

Having had a brief hiatus over the festive period, back on the #sadmin
On the phone to #HMRC who did not provide account details for bank to pay a tax bill…..
15 minutes and counting so far…..
And haven’t even started on gathering stuff for probate yet…..

And onother #Sadmin news, e nail from my mother's private pension provider saying they have overpaid her, and I need to reimburse them.
This despite me telling them to prevent this.
Well the #Sadmin doesn't stop, even on Christmas Eve....

Strongly advises me to make a complaint to DWP and to also write to my MP here and my mother's MP.

Starting on the #sadmin early today after variousvcorrespondence arrived yesterday.
One letter was asking for a form to be completed with a “wet signature”.
Had to ask for clarification on this….
It means an actual signature with a pen…..
Going through today's post. Deliveries are so hit and miss.
A mix of #Sadmin stuff, Christmas cards and sympathy cards.
A friend of my parents who was in their house weekly, and phoned daily, pretty much dropped them when #covid hit.
She sent a Christmas card but wrote a sympathy message.

A trip to RBS to advise them of her death. (I had POA on her Nat West account.)
Queue almost out of the door.
Guy asking people their requirements while queuing.
Had no idea what to do in my scenario!
Asked me to wait for colleague to assist.
20 minutes wait, 20 minutes doing the necessary.

Today, a response from company.
An encrypted e mail from them, just to confirm address details acknowledged and changed in their records! What a complete palaver!

Getting hardly any post to parental home via redirection now. Thankfully nothing further for new owners with similarish name.
Got TV licence renewal through today. (Direct debit cancelled last September, but must have slipped through #sadmin net of notifying them.)

When we escaped away last month I was hoping not to have to deal with #Sadmin etc, but it didn’t happen.
I also had several WhatsApp messages from a friend re getting my Christmas 🎁 to me. They came up with an intricate plan to deliver it to a friend who’d bring it to me.
(Didn’t need that either.)
No escape from #sadmin despite me telling people I was away & to phone only if urgent.
Estate agent called asking if buyer of parental home could return.
Company dealing with my father’s pension expected me to send encrypted e mails with info, numerous calls from unknown numbers.

Asked for name of person I was speaking to. Then asked her to spell it.
