Beyond the windshield-wipered window is a blustery sea, the horizon, a mostly-cloudy bit of blue sky and a rainbow.

Silver-shelled with yellow edges gooseneck barnacles affixed to a bright blue float that sat on the sea surface for a year. They are large and aptly named. A large cluster or hundreds of organisms surround the underside of the float, this photo only shows a small portion.

A tiny Greenland village in the middle of the Prins Christian Sund the fjord that cuts through the southern end of the country. There is ultramarine blue water in the lower third of the photo, then the small colorful buildings of the town of Aappilattoq, and the rocky grassy land climbs from there to the top of the image, dwarfing the town. It's not a great photo to be honest, but it's a cool place to have been.

Looking aft on the deck of my ship, the deck is grey, the bulwarks are blue. You can see the gangway and steps. A grey Allied side handling arm is rotated down and framing the purple topping pink twilight sky with a single cloud and the moon visible. On the right is the yellow-green superstructure of the ship and the colors all brightly blend beautifully.

I don't know what it is about this #photograph I love so much, I took it in 2020, and keep coming back to it.
