... the Crake showed nicely for maybe half an hour or more ~ in the open throughout almost ~ & took me right back to happy memories of my 1st one at Skewjack in August 1984. High quality bird this. Nearby, a smart Cattle Egret & Whinchat too.

A fun trip to Kent for @linnetincley.bsky.social & I ~ everything started off nicely on Thursday evening when we arrived at SBBO & nipped along to New Downs to enjoy the snazzy Spotted Crake that's been around a week or so now. Really enjoyed this characterful bird...

Deana is enjoying freshly made haddock and chips on the quiet, peaceful beach at Sandwich Bay. The crisp batter on the haddock gives way to flaky, tender fish, perfectly paired with golden chips. With the calm sea stretching out before her, she savours every bite and soaks in the tranquil atmosphere.
Friday night means fish and chips by the sea. Tonight, I'm savouring freshly made haddock π£ and chips right on the beach at Sandwich Bay. #fishfriday π§
A scorching day out at Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory with Sharon. The highlight has to be when Assistant Warden Jonny put us onto a Little Owl sitting on a shed roof. Not long after I found one of the newly fledged little owls on the ground, hiding out in the shadows. π₯ππ¦π¦ππ #wildlife #sandwichbay
