Sarawak Day Bonus

Currently featured on my Sarawak Independence Day 2025 post is an artwork by ninisyhafini/lee_jungfei on DeviantArt. It featured two flags of Sarawak. The first flag is a 1963 'old' flag, featuring a yellow Eastern Crown in the middle, a yellow base layer colour, and a cross, in which it splits colour in half, the black left half side and the red right half side (used until 1973; also used as a government flag around 1870 until 1946). The second flag is the current flag (1988 until present), featuring a yellow nine-pointed star, representing the original nine Sarawak districts in 1988 (which are Bintulu, Kapit, Kuching, Limbang, Miri, Samarahan, Sarikei, Sibu and Sri Aman), with the same yellow base layer colour, and a diagonal line (top left to bottom right), which splits to half, with black upper half and red lower half. It also featured a man in 'enggang' (rhinoceros hornbill) feather headgear on his head and 'baju burung' (translated as 'bird clothes' or 'bird shirt'; used for festivities and celebration), both used by the Dayak. He also wears a blue plain shirt on his body, and black plain pants. There is an excited cute miniature blob creature around his right hand (just under the 1963 'old' flag), which reminds me of blue slime from the Dragon Quest video game series. In the background, there is a base layer of white, with it there are brush patches of red (and also dots of red that looks like a star in the space surrounding the galaxy and nebulas gasses), black and yellow, representing the colours of Sarawak flag.
Dear fellow Sarawakian, I wish you a happy Sarawak independence day 2025! Enjoy and stay safe! ❤️
