Today I found this nifty 1952 Savoy Records 10-inch LP featuring jazz saxophone legends Ben Webster, Ike Quebec & Don Byas. Vinyl had much fingerprint dirt but after two washings this 72 year old LP plays amazingly. Label looks remarkable. I don't think this ever got played on an automatic record changer. Never have seen this anywhere. 1buc thrift score.

Couldn't leave behind this lovely 1961 Lester Young compilation at Mill Valley Music, if only for the cover. Anyone know where these live recordings are from and who is on them? The liner notes are super vague. Not sure if this is an original due to the maroon colored label -- Savoys were mostly rich red color -- and the thinner, more flexible vinyl but the deadwax serial numbers seem to indicate it is from the original stampers so who knows?
