Finally we escaped the clay and the sun came out which was a much nicer experience ☀️

The next section of walking was in clay fields which just stuck to our boots. The clay just kept sticking and building up till it felt like we had heavy lead boots on platform shoes!! Such hard work to cover very short distances.

Today we did a 34km/21 mile hike from #Swale (by the Sheppey Bridge Crossing) to #Rochester, mainly along the original #SaxonShoreWay
The first couple of hours were in strong headwinds with driving rain in our faces which was not very pleasant! ☔🌬️ 1/6

Today we continued our walk along the #EnglandCoastPath & #SaxonShoreWay from #Faversham to #Sittingbourne
It took 7 hours to walk 24.1 miles/38.8 km (26.7 miles/42.8 km if we include the walk to Margate station & back)

Today we did a 15 mile/24 km walk from #HerneBay to #Faversham
We caught the train to Herne Bay and then walked along the #EnglandCoastPath and the #SaxonShoreWay which took us just under four and a half hours, along the coast and then up Faversham Creek to reach the harbour.

Enjoyed the walk from Sittingbourne to Sheppey Crossing. So much to see and explore. Going through hundreds of photos I took there last Saturday.
