I've walked almost 1000 miles of the #EnglandCoastPath so far. I love it. But it simply isn't true that you can walk to the coast, turn left or right and walk beside the sea for as long as you like. Landowners prevent access to so many miles of it.

World's longest coastal path opens in England to the public Great news if you enjoy trekking as much as I do. The bad news is that it’s still English weather.

England has officially opened the world's longest coastal path, inviting you to explore breathtaking new stretches of its beautiful coastline! #EnglandCoastPath #CoastalWalks #Adventure 🏞️

Stanford-Le-Hope to Benfleet. 15 miles. #EnglandCoastPath

It's hard sometimes to reconcile these paths alongside mud, marsh and creeks as part of the coast path. Its been a long time since we've seen the sea in this direction.

What did they mean by no photos?!

The #IsleofSheppey is no longer a mystery to us! Having walked the entire circumference of the island, we saw it has many beautiful areas (and some not so).

Our final section of the walk took us back along the banks of The Swale, passing a pink lake (apparently natural algae) and back to the Kingsferry Bridge and across to Swale to catch our train home.

We rejoined the #EnglandCoastPath to Minster-on-Sea, & had views across to Southend-on-Sea

We had lunch in Sheerness at a lovely old pub called The Red Lion, in Blue Town, a beautiful historic area which grew up alongside the Naval Dock Yard during the Napoleonic Wars

We managed to almost dry our boots overnight but they were very quickly wet again this morning as we set off in torrential rain. We did have lots of sunny spells today but a few periods of heavy rain.

Today we completed our walk around the whole of the Isle Of Sheppey. We walked 18.5 miles/29.5 km in just over 6 hours, from Leysdown-on-Sea back to Swale on the mainland, where we started yesterday morning.

Queen Victoria's Isle of Wight retreat blocks national coast path - BBC News Osborne House on the Isle of Wight will not allow the King Charles III England Coast Path to cross its land.

Call this a coast path? 🤔

Great to see the BBC cover the dangerous proposed route for the King Charles III #EnglandCoastPath

Rather than follow the historic beach at English Heritage's Osborne estate, the coast path will go miles inland along a busy A-road 🧵

The mystery around the #IsleOfSheppey has now lifted for us. It has a beautiful coast.

Tonight we are staying in a caravan at Leysdown-On-Sea. Hopefully our boots dry out before we head off again in the morning! 🥾🥾

We did an 18 mile/29 km hike from Swale to Leysdown-On-Sea on the opposite side of #IsleOfSheppey on the #EnglandCoastPath

The weather forecast was atrocious for today but we were very lucky for the first half of the walk & apart from being very windy, we remained mostly dry 2/5

We caught a train back to Swale this morning and this time headed across the Kingsferry Bridge onto the #IsleOfSheppey

The Isle's always been a mystery to us & 18 years after moving to this part of the world, we're finally exploring it!

We bunked off jobs to do the next bit of our #EnglandCoastPath walk. Higham (ok not on the coast, but on a disused #UKCanals instead to the QE2 Bridge.

The Thames and Medway canal turned out to be a delight. I love the history behind these waterways.

At least it was until I had to stick my finger in my ear, sing thru' my nose and dance thru' crowds for the final mile as had totally forgotten Folk Week would be on 😇

Today we did a 15 mile/24 km walk from #HerneBay to #Faversham

We caught the train to Herne Bay and then walked along the #EnglandCoastPath and the #SaxonShoreWay which took us just under four and a half hours, along the coast and then up Faversham Creek to reach the harbour.

Darent - I know you mostly from the @thamespathnt.bsky.social / #EnglandCoastPath route that goes up and down to get back to the #Thames and under the #M25, and a brief sighting at a friend's wedding. But what I've seen is wonderful, and you've your own path, so I'll return (12/35)

For the river's not that wide
Now reach for me
And bridge that dark divide
Come on and rise
