A high-definition image captured from NASA's DC-8 Airborne Laboratory shows the fiery re-entry and fragmentation of the Jules Verne ATV, a European Space Agency spacecraft, over the Pacific Ocean. The 13-ton spacecraft's controlled deorbit was observed as part of a joint ESA/NASA campaign to compare real-world re-entry data with computer models.
