Book cover Title: Back to Me, a Cameron Falls novel Author: TC Matson Performed by: Kat Auden and Scott Rose *****Book review***** >Growing Stronger< Hadley (Pipsqueak, Hads) and Rhett Helms immediately stole my heart. He is such a caring and loving father. They are so sweet, and she's very perceptive, as children tend to be. It leads to some hilarious moments that make me want to gobble them up, as my gran used to say. 🥰🦃🥰 As for Presley, she's another one that's easy to like. She has an obvious affection for people that just reels me in. That doesn't stop both of them from making mistakes. -- Book quote 'I’m stuck staring, hypnotized by her. Damn, she’s beautiful.' -- Rhett Helms The small-town feel comes shining through with everyone knowing everyone else's business and the (mostly) friendly greetings. We get to meet a lot of the people who are likely to be important throughout the series, and I like that. I read along with the audio book. The narrators, Scott Rose and Kat Auden, do a good job with these characters. Hadley's exuberance was possibly the best part. 🎧💛🎧 Story: 4 stars Narration: 3.5 stars Listening Speed: 1.8x H = 31; h = 20s?

(Book review) >Pushing Buttons< OK, one of my absolute favorite parts of this is the ribbing between Jasper Kohlmann and his friends, whether it's about Lyndee Gibson or just about anything else. It's hilarious. Throw is an adorable preschooler, and it gets even better! -- Book quote 'I can’t help feeling a slice of excitement sweep through my veins. Lyndee Gibson, right across the street on a daily basis. Lord help me, I’m actually looking forward to it. I’ve never sparred with anyone like her, and the prospect of going toe to toe with Miss Gibson again has me all sorts of enthusiastic. I may not know what brought her here after all these years, but it’ll be fun finding out. Suddenly, I can’t wait until tomorrow morning.' -- Jasper Kohlmann Jasper likes pushing Lyndee's buttons. I think he has a ☠️ wish. 🫣👀 That said, I like how they verbally spar and generally support each other after getting past the initial shock of being in the same town, and Jasper confirming that she's no longer competition like she was in culinary school. There is a GIANT misstep that rubbed me wrong, but I liked the rest of the story. There's a side romance that's cute. I like that cerebral palsy doesn't slow Dustin down much, and he's able to find someone who appreciates him. I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Lexi Evans and Scott Rose. They were delightful to listen to. I felt the highs and lows and general frustrations. 🎧❤️‍🔥🎧 Story: 4 stars Narration: 4 stars Listening Speed: 1.8x H & h = 32ish
