I must watch does filer also write to other volume server on different rack/datacenter if I specify 001 replication setting. Gemini insists it wouldn't happen, but I have experienced it in the past.

Looks like #seaweedfs container image 4.09 tag still broken, can not starting filer with S3 parameters

To anyone who run #seaweedfs container using latest tag, beware 4.08 is broken. Filer would failed to start.
4.09 has been released but might not propagated yet on docker hub.
My quick fix is to use 4.07 until 4.09 propagated and available to pull from my machines.

Looks like latest #seaweedfs container (4.05) is broken. Filler restarting continuously.
Downgraded to 4.04 as latest working version.

And now moving onto looking at SeaweedFS instead of Ceph to compare. Both come with S3 compatibility, but SeaweedFS seems simpler to operate and reason about so far. However, there's some planning to do in order to support multiple buckets. I also know Go better then C++.

Moving to a new storage system wasn't that bad with #cubefs and my media. If you into distributed storage stuff, this is not a bad one to try. Shut down my test of #seaweedfs and now I gotta move my spinning rust to cube to get the space back.

#Seaweedfs is a great alternative to #MinIO. I'm using to store assests and I'm loving it. Filer api is all you need. The only thing missing is an authentication mechanism but you work around it with an web proxy (#nginx for instance) in front
