My homemade version of these Swedish buns has a filling of pistachio-lime (instead of the regular almond marzipan) at the center & freshly whipped cream. The filling is a great match to the cardamom bun.

This year’s best semla came from Krus bakery in Undersåker. Perfect bun - soft, fluffy with and just the right amount of chewiness - and a rather generous amount of mandelmassa filling. Worth the walk in snowy weather to get there!
