The intensity of their glares felt tangible, but the wolf did not bring himself to meet their gaze. His feelings of them were equally reflective in his own disillusionment. Instead, he turned his head, staring out the small window at the passing desert scenery. Outside, a landscape of tans and browns began to reveal itself with a rising red sun. The arid desolate world stretched on endlessly with contrasting serenity as the smoke-filled desolation of a broken town was left behind. Much like the battle-torn city, the wolf desperately desired for his own memories of the events of the past few hours to be left behind as well.
