Shadic had a few design tweaks, and a LOT of ability rework. I pretty much took all the strengths I had originally given her, and surrounded them with (what I hope are) interesting weaknesses. Her personality has stayed about the same though. And her age increased.

Not sure that could happen! Shadic and Soko are close but also understand when to give each other space. They may argue on rare occasions, but neither would want to do the other harm. She can have feisty moments, but they're usually short-lived and no match for his patience.

Shadic has had two close calls. The first when she was an infant, too small and unstable to support all the Chaos energy she was born with. She made it a little less than a year before getting too sick and being put back into cryosleep.

Neither Shadic nor Soko is especially competitive. Shadic will give it her all and play at bantering smack talk, but in the end would congratulate the other on their victory. No playful banter from Soko. He would just do his thing and take the win or loss with equal grace.

I often think of Shadic's aversion to natural Chaos energy as a sort of allergy. She can feel when it's near and doesn't want to get too close, because it causes discomfort and possibly pain depending on the strength and length of exposure. Chaos energy storms really bother her.

Soko is a garbage can who will eat anything so long as it has calories. But he loves sweets the most.

Shadic has a more "average" range. Not especially picky, but if she tries something and doesn't like it she probably won't have it again. She prefers bolder, bitter flavors.

There are bits of me sprinkled between the two of them. I feel like I've got more in common with Soko though. Mostly mellow and quiet enough to be left unbothered, but also prone to being a bit rebellious if something irks me. I share sarcasm and stubbornness with Shadic. 😅

Shadic has no family to consider, but Soko worries how his grandparents would feel about everything. They raised and inspired him to enlist, then he goes and throws his career away after falling for a lab experiment! Gasp...

Shadic occasionally has nightmares about her time with GUN. She often wakes with a start, and sometimes can even get stuck in those negative emotions and lash out.

Luckily, Soko stays calm and is quick to soothe her. Otherwise he tends to sleep like a rock and rarely dreams.

Shadic doesn't talk about the time she was put into a state of heightened stress and rage while at GUN. Specifically, the incident when she killed Rain. She was technically in control of her actions, but influenced by artificial emotions. She remembers most of what happened.

My current thought is that after leaving GUN, Shadic and Soko would lay low for a few years. Partly to avoid retribution from GUN, partly as a way to account for the time I hadn't been updating them. 😆 Soko would previously have had all his needs met by the military.

Shadic can be quite stubborn, and if she wants something she would try again and again, even past frustration.

Soko would try a time or two, then step back to evaluate the situation. If he still wanted the outcome he would find another way, or drop it if no longer important.

There would be a growing prejudice against artificial lifeforms in Shadic's story. It starts small, first coming from those in the facility who feared the implications. But I imagine it'd hit the general population later on when she's older, if the practice became more common.

Though I have played with the idea of giving Shadic a longer-than-average lifespan. Still not sure on that, but if she were to outlive Soko I'm not sure how she would handle moving on.

Shadic cares not at all. She's clean and will brush her fur, but past that doesn't care for looks. Clothes are more of a hassle than it's worth, but she'll dress up on rare occasions...if she has to. 😆 It'll be a struggle though, and she usually wants help picking things out.

Not so much an "enemy", but GUN has never been a safe place for Shadic and now it's a problem for Soko too. Both take care to steer clear to avoid the consequences of their actions.

Soko was enamored first, but didn't outwardly admit it for a long time. It gradually came through in his actions though. Once Shadic "got it", she was less shy about moving forward from like to love. She even gives the first kiss. 🤭

Soko's eyes are a deep, dark blue.

Shadic's are purple, and the irises glow as she uses her abilities. If she uses them too much, a brighter purple-white glow will creep into her pupils and her vision will start to bloom to white at the edges.
