Well that was SUCH a treat! #Ecclesfield #Local #carols tonight under the #ChristmasTree in the churchyard! #HarkHark #Sheffield #Sheffieldcarols π΅πΆπ
We had a wonderful evening... singing our hearts out... at the #SheffieldCarols in @dogandpartridge.bsky.social last night... something tells me I may not be able to talk much today... I did lots of screechy descants... at full volume...
Two hours or so belting out not always tuneful songs. A mix of carols as you know them, popular songs, & a few Sheffield rarities.
The full 12 days of Christmas, Joy to the World, plus the likes of Stannington (of course, it's their band), but not Spout Cottage or Pratty Flowers.

What a great #sing at the #TopRed #Grenoside tonight! #Sheffield #local #carols #SheffieldCarols #LocalCarols
The communal singing of carols in pubs in Sheffield is a long tradition and I was lucky to get to one.
The Mistletoe Bough is my favourite: the grisly tale of an unfortunate Christmas bride.
Very seasonal!
(I do tell the story of the song on the Podcast!)
