Though the best decision would be to have Arcueid rest up a few more nights to regain enough strength to decimate Vlov, Shiki is worried about the innocent lives that may be lost for every night the vampire roams free. He comes up with a compromise and asks Arcueid if one night's rest is enough to beat Vlov.
Arcueid responds with confidence that with only one night of rest, Vlov should still be no problem for her.

Start of the story, Young Shiki Tohno wakes up in the hospital after a terrible accident. Ever since then, he can see these red scribbles on any object, even humans. He finds that if he runs a plastic knife through the lines, he'll easily cut apart what he's tracing (and thus accidentally slices his own bed in half)
