so I don't turn the compost, I just aerate it occasionally by cramming my pitchfork in here and there and giving it a wiggle.

so! before and after. not quite done yet, gonna do more weedwhacking and pile it a foot or two higher. oh yeah and I gotta remember to use my gardening tag #sigsdigs

here's a pic from August of the greenhouse I grew it in, along with a few little pumpkins and 3 enormous butternut squashes. I built it in the spring by just screwing some pallets and scrap wood together and zip-tying greenhouse plastic to it (leftover sheets from previous years). #sigsdigs

it's MUCH lighter and hasn't shown any signs of rotting! the dark spots on the bottom have been there since I picked it, they're from the gourd reaching the ground as it grew. #sigsdigs
