On #ThisDayInHistory in 1969, #RichardNixon first used the phrase #SilentMajority in a speech about #VietnamWar protests. Since #Nixon's day it has become a staple of the American right, being used to push policies they know are unpopular while claiming an invisible mandate.
I remain aghast by the MAJORITY of white voters who voted for Trump in:
• 2024: 55%
• 2020: 55%
• 2016: 54%
