This is unacceptably expensive.
We have been informed by TfL that the #SilvertownTunnel will be closed for most of Sat 8th and Sun 9th for the T100 Triathlon. This means the Silvertown Bike Bus will not run all day until about 6:30pm.
We’d thought using buses would give them the flexibility to use Blackwall instead, but…

It's clear TfL ignored our comments to #SilvertownTunnel bike bus consultation and didn't learn from the failed Dartford bike bus. The tunnel is mainly for cars; the 52% of Newham households without them an afterthought. There's huge demand for 24/7 step-free crossings in east London. This isn't it.
Local legend @diamondgeezer.bsky.social looks at rather embarrassing stats for #SilvertownTunnel bike bus: 100-150 cyclists per day (avg <1/bus.) We feel TfL has doomed this service to failure—it finishes at 9:28pm, placing a curfew on those who don't drive diamondgeezer.blogspot.com/2025/06/init...
