Floating above the sediment covered sea floor and in front of the dark water background is a gelatinous siphonophore. It’s tentacles are trailing down off of its body. The surrounding water has floating biological debris better known as marine snow

Gelatinous creatures for the win! Bloody belly comb jelly lampocteis, the middle are the same ctenophore but I have no idea what genus. And the last one is a type of physonect siphonophore. Dive 784 #Siphonophriend

On top of the seafloor is a green proboscis of a spoonworm that is being retracted. The forked ends are twisting as they move.

Coming up off the seafloor is a peach ball shaped animal. A colonial siphonophore of some kind. Up above that is the arm of brittle star coming out of the sediment

In the center of the screen in the hollow of some rocks is a purple octopus. It’s arms are curling toward the center and have two rows of suckers going down. The mantle of the octopus is facing down and you can see one eye in the middle of the screen

Siphonophore love! Still behind on dives. These were from dive 749 off the coast of Chile with SOI back in November. First one ID’d as desmophys hematogaster on discord, then a marrus orthocanna, and not sure what genus the last one is, but gorgeous! #ChileMargin2024 #Siphonophriend
