This weeks bookstore haul. Not pictured: the entirely unnecessary (yet irresistible) lavender pens and notebooks, plus a pack of cat magnets featuring "punny" classic literature titles. #booksky #blackafhistory #slowbirding #thecurseofhestergardens #yesteryear
I'm testing a hypothesis this winter: If I feed this one (1) wild turkey, will he keep the marauding flocks from barreling through my yard? Tune in for updates. #slowbirding #trashpeacock

TIL: I am and have always been a ‘slow birder’!
I’ve always preferred to deeply contemplate the current experience of seeing a bird(s) rather than ticking off lists, counting species, etc.

A small sandy beach, Allhallows-on-Sea.
Plenty of birds on show, no birders seen. Much of the time just me and my camera, plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by. Bliss #SlowBirding #BareNakedBirding
(I'll admit a pack of jammy wagon wheels and a bottle of pop helped enhance the experience.)

Took a little walk this morning with my favorite nature buddy at Occoquan NWR. Knew we wouldn’t get too far, but we saw robins, cedar waxwings, geese, blue jays, and a bunch of sparrows just in the parking lot.
