It’s a Wednesday when Louis decides to stop in at I Love UA Latte. As he stands in line his mobile vibrates, so he pulls it out of his back pocket to see who is bothering him at 7am. Just as he starts to return a text from Niall asking him to grab him a Large Iced Mocha, extra whipped cream, he hears the barista yell, “Oat Milk Latte for Harry! Oat Milk Latte for Harry S.” He looks up from his mobile thinking there’s no way it’s the same Harry, the one he dated all through high school, tried to keep a long distance relationship with in college, not that Harry ... "Hi", Harry stops in front of Louis who is about to order, taking his latte from the barista with a smile. "Hi, how are you?" Louis tries to smile, although he is shocked to be standing in front of Harry after so many years of not speaking. Harry smiles back, and it looks genuine. "How's your family? How's your sister?"

“LOUIS!” His sister Lottie’s voice screams in his ear. “Why do you sound like you’re asleep?” “Because I am.” He hears her sigh. “Okay fine, call me when you wake up. I have some news.” Louis sighs, “I’ll call you on my way to meet Zayn, in like two hours. Love you, just really need this nap.” “Love you too Lou, don’t forget.” “I won’t.” He ends the call and sets it next to him on the bed and closes his eyes. Any other day he would have just talked with Lottie. Today he needs to sleep. Unfortunately, he does forget to call Lottie on his way to meet Zayn. If he had then he would've been prepared for what was about to happen. No, if Marcus hadn’t ruined his morning, used up his energy all day trying not to think about him, he wouldn’t have needed a nap when he got home. Lottie could've told Louis the news. Louis would have been prepared, or at least more prepared than he was for what was about to happen.

Snippet of a new fic by claremontdiazfox: The man stops in his tracks, grin frozen on his face. His eyes drift over Alex from top to toe; Alex stands up taller, throwing his shoulders back. He’s not going to let this entitled prick make him feel small. “What?” the man asks, still smiling. Alex stares back at him. “You’ve had your fun, my friend.” The man quirks a brow and starts walking towards Alex. “Do I know you?” Alex inhales. “Uh, I’m Alex —” he starts. “So, I don’t know you,” the man says. He stows his dagger in his belt and comes to a stop in front of Alex, looking at him curiously. “Yet you called me ‘friend’.” Alex breathes a self-effacing laugh. “That was my mistake.” “Yes, I think so,” the man agrees. “Yeah,” Alex says, nodding. “I’d never have a friend who could be such an ass.”

Evarin's heart beat like a drum, keeping time for her whispered song. Though the language was ancient, the lyrics were her own: a song written for the sacred purpose of ending a life. Her voice echoed in the narrow hall, alongside the soft click of her cloven hoofsteps. Turning and bowing her head, she walked through the low doorway into her altar room. The glass walls were nearly opaque with frost, white as the snow still clinging to the ground outside. Sunlight filled every pane and kept the whole room warm and bright despite the early hour. Evarin made her way down the short dirt path to the center of the room, surrounded on all sides by a golden field of miniature sunflowers.
