This fear and the us and them is more what I was pointing at because you could be totally right - for our survival and flourishment this new kind of promethian flame needs to be held in the hands of all and moulded by the hands of all steered by the good of all

It’s also probably one of the most incredible inventions of this century , the doors it opens to understanding the universe by utilising the power of all human knowledge is probably far more than we can even fathom at this point of genesis which is why it needs to be guided by a value system rooted in collectivism

Beyond big corporations its implications for war/health/business means it sits in a similar but more consequentially reaching space as the space race all those years ago! When you can monopolise distribution and limit access to it, it gives you a hell of a lot of power - which is why I’m such a fan of open source too

I agree that we should have equal opportunity and that everything should be based on merit and skill and work - best person for the job should be the best person for the job. You’re right too the legal system is heavily biased in certain instances. But prejudice is only one part of the picture - economic disparity among the population is probably the most limiting factor to living a comfortable life or being afforded opportunity which does boil down to the systems which govern money and how resources are allocated at the end of the day
Safety culture can be used as an explanation for accidents and as a recipe for improvement in complex #sociotechnical systems. 3 conceptions of culture appear: culture as causal attitude, culture as engineered organization, culture as emergent and indeterminate.
