An extraordinary passage from #Jungian #JamesHillman on salt and our #wounds and the soul's need for our wounds for its sustenance - quite literally a game-changing perspective on our wounds and why we keep returning to them again and again...

Trusting the Spiral – Reflections on Soul-Making and Symbolic Process Earlier this year, an image came to me with unusual clarity: I am both an Osprey circling in the heavens and a Tortoise finding its way through the undergrowth on the ground. The osprey sees the wide terrain of my life with vision and strategy; the tortoise moves through its density—deliberate, grounded, and slow. Both are me, both are essential. At the time, I didn’t know what to make of this image beyond its poetic resonance.

This episode of Speaking of Jung helped reorient my path. Writing and symbolic images are soul work. I’m the osprey and the tortoise—vision and groundedness. Thank you, Laura London and Christina Becker, for the mirror. #Jungian #SoulMaking #DepthPsychology
