Here’s another of print & sketch. St. Edmund’s Wolf, protecting the severed head of the King after a Viking attack, until it is miraculously joined with his body again. Quite the story.

Today's rather late #SaintsonSaturday takes us to #Kimbolton Church in #Cambridgeshire for this (slightly defaced) and unusually armoured #StEdmund complete with the arrows of his martyrdom... The paintings probably date from 15th century

This morning for #stainedglassSunday a #StChristopher from the too often overlooked church of #StThomas and #StEdmund in #Salisbury, #Wiltshire.
There's more to Salisbury than a cathedral, just don't tell the #GRU
The glass is c15th century and the church boasts some interesting wall paintings too.

Revive St. Edmund’s Day: a new holiday for England’s original patron saint? What if England had two patron saints? Celebrating St. Edmund could bring a much-needed holiday in November

St. Edmund’s story is uniquely English, writes @gardeningkate.bsky.social. He’s a symbol of resilience against invaders. Isn’t it time he joined St. George as a patron saint?
