Users of #HeatingOil feel aggrieved at unfairness, when the price is high.

I imagine they are also demanding the right to pay a daily #StandingCharge whether they use the oil or not?

At any other time they would be boasting of how cheap and cost-effective their heating is.

Off subject, but just to put wood on the fire... let's also not forget Energy #StandingCharge was NOT invented by #Energy Companies, but #OffGem, as far as I gathered!

Any update on realising tariffs that don't have a #standingcharge.

I fully accept and understand that it pays for the distribution and bailing out failed companies,so the day tariff would have to be higher to compensate.

I live in the same town as my Mum.
Here are our #Octopus electricity tariffs.
I assume I’m paying more for the #StandingCharge as I don’t have a #SmartMeter?

Offering a rate without a #standingcharge will still probably penalise low volume users - it should be abolished all together.

The standing charge was introduced only 10 yrs ago, by Cameron. There is absolutely no need for it, the Gov really must look at it. I know Martin Lewis is trying to do something, but it won’t be scrapped. #StandingCharge #ElectricityRipOff

In addition, the #StandingCharge is the same whether you live in a small, one-bedroom flat like me, or Highgrove House, like King Charles.

It's the energy industry's Poll Tax.
