Pine64’s upcoming **ALPHA-One** is a small, fanless computer that stands out for a few reasons. One is that it’s made for AIL: the computer has an NPU with support for up to 20 TOPS of AI performance ad ships with a 7b Deepseek/Owen LLM pre-loaded and Pine64 says it supports about 3.5 tokens per second using that model. Another reason is that the ALPHA-One doesn’t have an Intel, AMD, or Qualcomm processor. Instead it’s powered by a RISC-V chip. The little computer is expected to sell for $330 but Pine64 hasn’t revealed when you’ll actually be able to buy one yet. The ALPHA-One isn’t an _entirely_ new device – it’s based on the StarPro64 single-board computer that was introduced last fall. But the ALPHA-One pairs that board with a fanless chassis and a 64GB eMMC module that holds the aforementioned LLM. Pine64 says it plans to provide a Meta Llama LLM in the future. Don’t need those features, or prefer to bring your own case and storage? The StarPro64 will sell for $250.
