Scouted the area now in daylight. With new moon the space between the hotel and the sky is pitch black. Same with the other hills. Certainly not going to hike up to light that space evenly with a torch. Redo the same tonight with fish eye lens.

Just started playing with #StartTrails and this is where I discovered what happens when you shoot more than 90° away from the North Star. I knew three trails would get longer but I didn't expect the arcs would be different in the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

Weather gave me a break last night. Winds finally blew the clouds out for the night, my allsky camera got a good number of photos. Looks like mainly satellite passes though, not noticing any bright meteors yet.
