State Budget: Karnataka to move ahead with Mekedatu project after SC relief, says Siddaramaiah
Bengaluru, March 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said the dismissal of petitions filed by Tamil Nadu in the Supreme Court against the Controversial Mekedatu project marked a significant legal victory for the state, and that the government would soon move ahead with the next steps for the long-pending project. Presenting the state Budget for 2026–27 in the Legislative Assembly, CM Siddaramaiah said a revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Mekedatu project would be prepared shortly and submitted to the Central Government for approval, including permission for the use of forest land.
