Here is some footage of the Threespine Stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) battle for the succulant, fat, white larva that appears to be caddisfly extracted from its protective case. First time I've seen sticklebacks competing for food like this. #Sticklebacks #TeamFish #chalkstreams #norfolk 3/8
As you can also see in the photo above, when over the white sands of Old Carr Stream, Three-spined Sticklebacks (Gasterosteus aculeatus) can, chamaeleon-like, turn pale to aid camouflage against Herons and the like.

At 1st the Three-spined Sticklebacks in the pool of Cavenham Mill Stream at Lower Farm, Great Saxham were shy, hiding under branches, then the big shoal became inquisitive, approaching close to this unexpected large body intruding in their domain.
